An important statement regarding visitation to Nursing Homes

15 July 2020

Beginning July 20th, visitation can begin at OHIO skilled nursing communities with the following measures in place. Visits will be held by scheduled appointment. We cannot safely accommodate people who drop in. The visits will be outside and will be monitored to ensure social distancing. We have set up visiting areas that are under cover. However visits may need to be rescheduled if the weather becomes severe or with heat advisory. The visits will last 15 minutes to ensure more visits can be held, and sanitation can be done in between visits. Visits are limited to 3 visitors at a time, over the age of 2, and pets are not permitted. Visitors must be screened, with temperature taken, prior to visit so please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment (If you arrive earlier, please wait in your car). If the visitor or resident have any symptoms or recent exposure, the visit will be rescheduled. Visitors must also wear a surgical face mask or cloth face covering (provided by the visitor) during screening and visit. Food, drink and tobacco are not permitted during visit. We will continue to monitor local COVID-19 cases as well as guidance from the department of health regarding any changes to visitation and will update you if any changes do occur. Per CMS recommendations, a nursing home should not conduct outdoor visits unless there have been no new onset COVID cases in the nursing home for 28 days. In these instances, we are still able to accommodate window visits or arrange FaceTime/Skype/Zoom sessions with your loved one. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please call the community to schedule your visit or with any questions.
